    Captain Rory Thompson had the helm, we were approaching a medium sized asteroid with a large magnetic signature and all was well. He, the geologist Lindsey McMillan, and I were on the bridge as the second shift crew. The pilot, medic and ships councilor were asleep aft, and the engineer was in her bay aft doing routine maintenance.    Our task for the shift was to disengage target asteroid Li-Na-17, named as such due to it's lithium and sodium composition and the historical precedence of being the seventeenth rock in the asteroid belt to be visited by man, and land on Nav0018, named thus by a series of unmanned probes earlier this year.
